Dr. Cyn will present their session titled “Using Generative AI for Artistic Communication: Lessons from a Punk Band” at the AI for All Summit to be held at Tennessee State University.
In this session Dr. Cyn from Nashville-based punk band Graduates Rise will present how they used generative AI tools to create album artwork and a visualizer music video for their latest single titled The Tennessee Three. These outputs will be discussed in light of how they were designed to help facilitate uptake of the complex content presented in the story song. Real time demonstrations of how to use Midjourney for image creation and Neural Frames for video creation will be presented, including insights on how to use Discord, creating prompts and negative prompts, integration of products from multiple AI applications, and ensuring proper ownership of created content. Ideas around how these tools could be used to create visualizer videos for educational purposes and the ethics that might arise in doing so will also be discussed.
